How Many Servings Do I Need?

Determining the right cake size for your wedding. Calculate servings based on your guest count and dessert options.

Basic Calculation

The general rule is to order enough cake for 80-100% of your guest count. If you have 100 guests, plan for 80-100 servings.

However, consider these factors when determining your final count:

If You Have Other Desserts

If you're serving a dessert table, cupcakes, or other sweets, you can order less cake. Consider ordering 60-80% of your guest count.

If Cake is the Only Dessert

If the wedding cake is the primary dessert, order enough for 100% of your guests, plus a little extra (10-20%) to ensure everyone gets a piece.

Pro Tips

  • Consider a smaller display cake with sheet cake for additional servings to save on cost.
  • Round cakes typically serve more than square cakes of the same size.
  • When in doubt, order slightly more rather than less. Leftover cake makes great favors!
